If you're in the mood for dim sum, check out this charming little stall located along a row of shops opposite St John’s Park bowling club. They serve a variety of fried and steamed dumplings, and you can even grab some frozen packs to take home. One standout dish has to be the fried bean curd spring roll—it's perfectly crispy and utterly delicious. We also tried the steamed prawn and chive dumplings. While the flavors were fantastic, the temperature was a letdown; they weren't served hot enough since they’re pre-steamed and displayed in a warmer. The selection might not be as extensive as what you’d find at a larger yum cha restaurant, but the quality certainly holds up. Plus, the service is fast and friendly, and with prices around $12.95 for six dumplings, it’s a good deal too. Overall, it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area!

I ordered the hargow and siu mai frozen to heat up at home the first time. I was blown away by how authentic they tasted. The hargow wrapping is silky, and the stuffing of both was generous. I was a bit disappointed when I dined in, as most dishes were served lukewarm. Still, the steamed prawn rolls and steamed scallop dumplings were quite nice. The golden milky bao was made fresh and absolutely delicious. Pandan & lychee pancake was a yummy twist on the usual mango. I was not a big fan of the fried dumplings, but then I usually prefer steamed dumplings at yum cha anyway. My partner enjoyed the signature fried dumplings and fried scallop dumplings. I probably would not dine in again, but I will definitely get take away in future, so I can warm them up piping hot at home!

Just found out that Mama Ha’s is run by a family friend and her lovely mum (hi Jenny and Ah Yi!). I’m kicking myself for not realising sooner. I dropped in for lunch and was instantly transported — not just by the flavours, but the nostalgia. We had all the yumcha classics and then some: Har gow & Siu mai – Absolute textbook. Delicate, juicy, perfect. Fried seafood rolls – Petite, crispy little flavour bombs. Steamed prawn rice rolls – This tastes like my childhood. Fried rice flour cake – A throwback to my teenage years. Steamed prawn dumplings – I don’t usually go for these but they were too cute to resist. Mango pancake – Shockingly good for off-season mango. Durian pancake – I’m a sucker for durian and this one hit the spot. Lychee pancake – First time trying this… how have I lived this long without it?? The real lychee inside is to die for. But what really blew me away were the sauces. You just know they’re made in-house with Mama’s magic. I’ve never tasted anything quite like them – they elevate everything. And if you’re the type who goes to yumcha just for the warm auntie energy and compliments – don’t worry, Auntie here lathers it on thick. You’ll feel like a handsome VIP from the second you walk in. Highly recommend giving this place a try if you’re in the area (or even if you’re not – it’s worth the detour). Support small, family-run gems like this. You’ll be glad you did.

A fantastic local spot that absolutely deserves 5 stars! The food is fresh, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything feels thoughtfully prepared. The service is just as wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place for both a casual meal or a special outing. It’s the kind of restaurant that makes you feel right at home and reminds you why supporting local businesses is so important. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a true hidden gem in the community

Catering Ordered the usual yum Cha suspects (har gow, siu mai, fried prawn dumplings and fried prawn rolls). Was a bit skeptical because I don’t know anyone personally who’s tried their other catering dishes. It was a hit! Faves were papaya salad with prawn and pork, egg noodles and special seafood fried rice. I appreciated the complimentary additional prawn crackers for the kids. I also liked you could order on short nice (3 day cut off). Will be getting catering from here in future!
